Waste/Recycling Service Delayed by One Day In Days Following Thanksgiving

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 13, 2006 - Waste Management of San Diego’s trash and recycling pick-up schedule will be delayed by one day in the days following Thanksgiving Day, on Nov. 23. This means customers in the following cities who receive service on Thursdays and Fridays should place their bins out for pick-up one day later than usual, on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25:

  • El Cajon
  • Santee
  • Communities in unincorporated San Diego County, including Lakeside, Spring Valley, Alpine and Jamul
  • City of San Diego (commercial service)

“Customers who usually receive service Thursday, which is Thanksgiving Day, will receive it on Friday, and Friday customers will receive service on Saturday,” said Carl Scherbaum, district manager. “All other service in the days preceding Thanksgiving will be on a normal schedule. We appreciate our customers’ cooperation with the holiday schedule so that all of our employees can observe Thanksgiving.”

The local Waste Management office, buyback center and the customer service center will be closed on Nov. 23, with normal operations resuming on Friday, Nov. 24.

Customer service is available at 1(800) DUMPSTER or (619) 596-5100, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m.
